Emergenza Festival

On March 16 Trond ie & the Deputies will play at the Emergenza festival in Oslo, Norway. The festival is like a cup where the audience vote for the bands they want to see in the semi final, and later on, in the final. For us the festival starts at the rock club Revolver on March 16. We hit the stage at 11.30 pm as the last band of the evening. Unfortunately, each band are allowed to play for only 25 minutes. As the audience decide which bands will qulify to the semi final we sincerly hope that as many of you as possible show up at Revolver and vote for us. We need every single vote we can get!

Tickets to the Emergenza festival can be bought from the band and cost 80 kr., or at Revolver on the night of the festival. Here they cost  100 kr. See you there!

Time for a summer break

This spring has been a busy one. We played many concerts at different venues in Oslo and finished off for the summer last night at R夨uset pub at Veitvet in the outskirts of Oslo. The Carlsson Experienced played first and did a great job. Trond ةe & The Deputies followed. The gig went great and the crowd was amazing. It was a very nice night indeed.

Now we're taking a well earned summer break. We'd like to wish you all a nice summer. See you in September.

Summer party on June 5

We'd like to remind everybody about our concert and summer party at Verkstedet on June 5. This should be a fantastic evening with a celebration of the summer we're entering, a DJ and of course a concert with Trond ةe & The Deputies.

Before the extravaganza at Verkstedet, however, we play at Per P j? on May 12. Per P j? is a nice little pub lacated in the centre of Oslo. The band Reeno will be joining us that evening. We hope to see as many of  you as possible there.

Cd release and concert

Thank you so much to everybody who came to our concert with Denver Daddy at Mir, Oslo, last night. We had a great time and we hope that everybody else who was there had a great time as well. The concert went very well.

We also released our CD Dreams at the concert so the concert became a sort of release party for us. The cd can be purchased at the shop section on this site, and of course at future gigs.

The next few months will be spent writing, arranging and rehearsing new songs, and booking gigs. We've set up a mailing list. Feel free to join and you'll receieve regular updates from us. You'll find the mailing list section on the front page of this site.

CD, concert and our own MySpace website

We have decided to call our forthcoming CD Dreams, after one of the songs on the CD. The other songs are called A Change Has Got To Come, Does It Really Matter and Streets Of The City. The record will be released around December 1, but a release date is still not set. You can listen to two of the songs,  Does It Really Matter and Dreams, on our MySpace website which you can find at http://www.myspace.com/trondoieband. Later on you will be able to listen to the songs on this site too, of course.

We are very happy to announce that we will play our very first concert on December 5. The concert will take place at Mir, Oslo, Norway. Together with the band Denver Daddy we will hopefully be able to give you an uplifting experience in an otherwise dark and gloomy time of the year. In addition to the songs from the CD we will most likely play a couple of songs that aren't on the CD. Don't miss this chance to see Trond ةe & the Deputies' first concert ever!

As mentioned somewhere else on this website keyboard player Geir Inge Storli is no longer a member of the band. We have been fortunate enough to get Per Arne Tandberg to play keyboards with us on the Mir gig. Per Arne and Trond have known each other for almost 25 years and even back then Per Arne was a great keyboard player! He has played almost any musical style there is, from jazz, pop to hard rock. Among other things, Per Arne today plays piano with his daughters children gospel choir! He has also played trumpet in a band called L?kke, and in several big bands in Oslo, for instance Prime Time Orchestra, Bajazz Big Band, and Corpsus Juris. Although Per Arne and Trond haven't really kept in touch over the years they bump into each other on the bus every now and then. It was on one of those occations they found out that Per Arne for the time being had no band to play in, and that Trond and his band was looking for a keyboard player. Trond asked Per Arne whether he would do the Mir gig with Trond ةe & the Deputies, and Per Arne accepted. Usually Per Arne is pressed for time so the gig at Mir is the only work sceduled for this line-up.

Geir Inge Storli has left the band

Our keyboard player, Geir Inge Storli, has left the band. The reason for him leaving the band is that he found it increasingly difficult to find time enough to work as much with the band as he felt was necessary. He actually told the rest of the band in August that he was leaving the band. We then decided to record an EP with him still being a band member. Geir Inge had been a member of the band for such a long time that it felt appropriate to make a record while he was still part of the band. Luckily, Geir Inge decided to stay in the band for about a month more, in order for us to record the forthcoming CD.

Geir Inge joined the band in October 2006, more than a year before we became Trond ةe & the Deputies. It was he who came up with the Deputies name. In addition to being a great keyboard player and an all around nice guy, Geir Inge was instrumental in arranging our songs. This is probably due to the fact that he is educated as a musician and has played and arranged a lot of music in many different genres over many years.

We would like to thank Geir Inge for all his contributions to the music and the band, and we wish him every success in the future.

Sept. 28, 2008

Trond ةe and the Deputies have now recorded all the tracks for the forthcoming CD. The recordings were done in Amund Ulvestad's studio in Oslo, Norway, Sept. 20-21. We haven't finished mixing the tracks yet, but plan to do that this coming weekend.

We originally planned to record five songs, but we decided to record four songs instead. The songs are quite long and we felt that four songs are enough considering that this is an EP. We are very happy with the result so far and are looking to forward to hearing the songs when they are mixed and mastered.

We still haven't set a release date as there are many things that need to be worked out before we can actually release the EP. However, we hope to be able to give you a release date in the near future.

Aug. 24, 2008

Trond ةe & the Deputies are about to record their first CD. The recording is scheduled to start in September and the CD is due to be released late 2008!

The CD, as yet untitled, will be an EP with five songs written by Trond.

We will, of course, keep you posted on the development of the recording, and we hope to be able to give you a release date within the next weeks.
